A Rs 1,000 crore 'Sustainable Catchment Forest Management' (SCATFORM) project was launched in Tripura on 16 January 2020. The project will help improve forests in the targeted catchment areas. It would also create livelihood of the people living in and around the forest areas. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will bear 80% cost of the project.
