After 10 Congress Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in a cabinet reshuffle, the Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant of BJP inducted 4 new ministers in the Goa Cabinet. Governor Mridula Sinha administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Goa. He appointed Chandrakant Kavlekar as the new Deputy Chief Minister of Goa. He was the leader of the opposition party. Michael Lobo, who resigned as the deputy speaker of Goa Assembly, Jennifer Monserratte, and Philip Neri Rodrigues were also sworn in as the Ministers.
