The Lok Sabha passed the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 commonly known as Triple Talaq bill by voice vote. It was important to bring in a law banning instant triple talaq as the practice has continued despite a Supreme Court verdict passed in 2017. The Bill is banned in many countries.
