When did Prime Minister Narendra Modi declare India open defecation free

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared India open defecation-free on 02 October 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The Prime Minister said that rural India declared itself open defecation free. Announced this at the 'Swachh Bharat Divas' event held at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad. Prime Minister Modi announced that India has amazed the whole world by providing toilets to more than 60 crore people and creating more than 11 crore toilets in 60 months under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
