How many environmental changemakers have officially been awarded the UN Champions of Earth Award 2019 and the Young Champions of the Earth Award by the United Nations Environment Program

It is the highest environmental honor given by the United Nations. This award is given every year to outstanding leaders from the government, civil society and private sector whose work has a positive impact on the environment. The Young Champions of the Earth awards were first given in the year 2017. This time the Republic of Costa Rica was awarded the Champions of the Earth Award in the category of policy leadership. In the year 2018, Narendra Modi was also awarded the Champions of the Earth Award under this category.
